First Thanksgiving

I finally scrapped these pics of Em's First Thanksgiving... I (of course) cannot believe that just three years ago she was this little chubby baby.

I used an October Pagemap sketch for the basic design on here... I love using a sketch when I feel stuck in a rut with my own ideas!
I just loved that I could make my own pile of leaves under the die cut tree. :)
I didn't need the word "Life" on the stamp from the kit, so I just inked half of the stamp and stamped it above and below the title.

A Layout with some Geese in it

My husband made so much fun of this layout.  He said the pic of Virge and me was too dorky.  Its just how we are.  I layered the bird cage transparency over the piece of Basic Grey.  I can't take total credit for this.  It just happened to be ordered that way in my kit.  Anyway, I liked the color scheme and went with it.

Thankful Candles and Pumpkin

I wanted to make some Thanksgiving gifts for my kids' Mother's Day Out teachers and their Sunday School teachers, so I used this month's kit to decorate some yummy pumpkin spice candles and make a little paper pumpkin.

These candles take about 15 minutes (if even that!) to make. I just cut a strip that wraps around the candle, tied a strip of fabric around it, and adhered on the velvet leaves, handcut paper leaves, and a mini-tag embellished with a flourish from the Making Memories glitter alpha stickers.
I used a pumpkin tutorial by my friend Greta (found here) to make this mini pumpkin out of paper. I changed the dimensions to 6" strips and I used about 17 strips. It was super easy.
I loved how the shimmer on the cardstock really adds a special touch to the pumpkin, and the little wine tag was perfect for this gift! I hand cut leaves and added "veins" in them with the glitter glue. Fun stuff! I can't wait to give these little gifts to their teachers!

This is my niece in NY. Sigh... I so wish I was there right now.
Aren't those velvet leaves to die for?

Just a Little Layout with the November Kit : )

I love all the glittery goodness in the November kit!  Glitter paper, actual glitter glue...so fun!  I also LOVE the shimmery copper cardstock I used for the base of this layout.  I got "Tagged" last week on my blog and had to write 6 random things about myself.  So, I printed the post out and included it in the layout.  The brown sparkle paper behind the first picture is actually a little pouch that holds the journaling.  Sneaky, aren't I?

November Scripts Kit

The change of seasons is so beautiful! We found some gorgeous fall papers for this kit. I'm sure we all have pictures of the beautiful changing leaves. I hope you all still have some! We do here in the south, but I know they go quickly up north! I think we are having an unseasonably cold Fall. Lately it has been in the 60s and we're not used to that! We usually don't get really cool weather until December and sometimes January!! I hope you enjoy the pictures of this gorgeous kit. Keep watching for the designers to put up their layouts and projects. Virginia already whipped out that cute photo album. I know they all are working on the kit and will be posting periodically!

We added this fun swirl glitter glue. It is a 1.7 oz. bottle of brown and gold glitter glue! It has a pointed tip, so the glue comes out just where you want it! I can't wait to play with it and see what the other girls come up with! I will get the picture of the supplement together tomorrow! It has been a BUSY day today!

November Memory Album

Ooooh this month's kit is a GOOD one!

I busted it out tonight to make this mini photo album.

I removed the inside covers from a basic plastic photo album, and then cut new insides for the cover out of some of the patterned paper in the kit.

Then the embellishing commenced! Everything on the actual paper is protected by the clear plastic album cover...

I finished it off by using the stretchy ribbon band to hold the album shut, and then tied on a little tag with some fiber.

The End of an Era

These papers were great from my Harry Potter book 7 release pics... I've had them sitting here since last summer to scrap, and now they're finally recorded!

I made the flower by cutting the petals up and making a more dimensional flower; I added felt, brads, and a ribbon leaf.
