Happy Hour

If you've been around me for any length of time, you've probably heard me sing the praises of Sonic, their ice, and "Happy Hour." Ha!

It doesn't hurt that there is one less than a mile from my house... the kiddos and I often roll up there for "Happy Hour" and get half price slushes. I knew I needed to make sure to record this tradition!
(Made with the August Scripts kit & add on kit- find it here! The only things I added were a piece of yellow cardstock and some red embroidery thread from my stash.)
I cut out some of the waves from one of the Fancy Pants journaling cards, and then created my own clouds from the backside of one of the pieces of Sassafrass patterned paper. The Jenni Bowlin chipboard sun shape got an extra boost of color & texture by layering it on top of the felt Creative Cafe die cut flower. I added some strips of paper and Sassafrass buttons to add even more texture!

I took this picture at the beginning of the summer. We made a habit out of meeting Papa and Lenda at Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. Not the best food in the world, but a great place for the kids to play! They love the playground there. I love it, too. I always get the best pictures at that place! The kids were playing in the nasty dirt/sand that is the on the ground. I asked 12 times for them to be still so I could get a picture. ha! Not the easiest of tasks. As I was waiting on them to do it one more time, I realized I could get on the other end of the monkey bars and get a picture! Oh, it was perfect....now they are begging to take a turn! Score one for Mom!

I titled this layout "Be You". I love my John Connor's personality. He is so funny and quirky! He's always quoting something from Spongebob or a movie he's seen recently. He has a knack for making people laugh and fall in love with him! I want him to always be this confident! I have this feeling he's going to get big on me pretty soon and I won't be able to just lean over and kiss him on the mouth. I dread that day, but I can't wait for him to grow up and be who he is going to be!!

All from the August Scripts kit and add on. I added stitching to this layout....something I have done to every layout lately! I love it!! It adds that extra special touch....

Gajamas

The little guy has definitely hit the stage where he wants to be independent about his own style choices. One of his favorite things to do is picking out & laying out his clothes (sounds like someone else I know!). He was recently handed-down some pajamas (or, "gajamas," as he calls them), and man, he LOVES to wear them to bed. He even has names for the different ones- like, the Batmas p.j.s are "the scary gajamas." hehe
Made with the Scripts August kit and add on kit- find it here!

That blue & green border strip- actually packaging from the Making Memories cork alphas! Same goes for the journaling spot; that is from some of the Sassafrass buttons packaging.

In order to make my focal photo stand out a little more, I laid it on the edge of my table and sanded the photo to make a cool border around it.

32 Review

Another July/August Scripts kit hybrid. I used my own Kraft stash (the cheap stuff from HL...its the best!) and the Little Yellow Bicycle paper to make a "year in review" layout. I loved the way the softies looked with the green and the kraft. I also used the hambly rub ons to layer around the edges for a neat tone on tone effect with the kraft.

Flip Flop

Ok. I got my July and my August Scripts kits at the same time and I mixed them up (accidentally). So, I'm not sure if most of the supplies for this kit came from the July kit or the August kit, but they all blend together quite nicely! This layout is about an old, old OLD pair of flip flops I have that I just CAN'T get rid of. I used some American Crafts Zing embossing powder to emboss the Jenni Bowlin sunburst chipboard and used the My Little Shoebox "b side" and Basic Grey stickers for the title. I love the KI Bloom softies flowers too! They added just the right touch. I used the tear off strip on the Sassafrass paper to make a half border for the pic of my beautiful shoes. I love that little extra piece.

Glimpses of a little lady

I love catching photos like this where I can see little peeks into who my kids are and who they might grow up to be like.

This little lady-like photos of Sabriel went perfect with the elegance and femininity of the July kit! I had a lot of fun playing around with the small details and layering on this layout.
I put my Martha Stewart butterfly punch to good use on this layout. LOL Did you know that if any of your punches ever get sticky or hard to use, you can punch through aluminum foil to sharpen them, and wax paper to "oil" them? Works like a charm!

We have a project for August!! Yay! It was so much fun to make.

I got in all the Road Map from October Afternoon and couldn't wait to play with it! So, I made this cute little book about our Summer travels. I am calling it, "Life is a Highway". I will send you all the papers cut into the shape of the album and the chipboard to complete it. You will also get an entire alphabet, 2 full sticker sheets, a rub on alpha, and the road map shapes sheet and journal card sheet. When you order the kit, I will email you the pictures of each page and written instructions!

There are 6 pages including the covers. There is a piece of Hambly and 4 clear pages, making the album 11 pages.

*note: You will get 2 pieces of My Mind's Eye paper in your kit. This should've been in the kit last month. The paper got shipped to the wrong address and sent back!! Hope you
