With all this pretty spring weather we are having in the south, this kit was so fun to break into and reflect those same colors and feelings I'm seeing everywhere outside!
To make the jumbo scalloped circle, I traced a large circle (with a bowl as a template!) onto the yellow cardstock and cut it out, then adhered it onto the raindrop paper. Then I just cut around the edges with large scalloped scissors & inked the edges. A fun and quick element!
This layout came together really easily for me the other night... the creativity was flowing and these little Jillibean Soup flowers just leaped onto the layout!
I had a lot of fun adding these two little elephants from the Sassafrass paper to symbolize the relationship between Sabriel and her daddy.
Everything from the March Scripts kit except for the tiny brads!

Scripts Guest Designer!!
How lucky are we? Jessica Turner agreed to play with our kit this month! I love her!! She really did a fantastic job.....didn't she? The way she mixed up the papers from Cosmo Cricket and Sassafras really shows how this kit pulls together. I hope you will play with yours this month and get as much as you can out of it. This kit is all about celebrating! Find something to celebrate.......anything from a birthday to just another beautiful sunshiney day! We are loving the 70 degree weather here in Alabama. It's definitely worth celebrating!!!
Is this card adorable or what? Those little Jillibean soup flowers are to die for! They are so petite and colorful! Use your leftovers for cards and tags for gifts....I love this kit!

It's in the water.....
Two of our favorite scrappers just had babies!!! We are so excited for them!
Elizabeth Bailey had a girl on Monday, March 9th. She named her Sarah Beth.
Shelley Burkette had a girl on Wednesday March 11th. She named her new baby girl, Eden.
Aren't they beautiful names? You should see the girls. They are so precious! I can't wait to meet them in person. I made them both a card with this month's kit.
The Sassafras paper is perfect for babies and toddler's, too!
There are several more scrapping friends that are pregnant....don't drink the water!

Boy/Girl
I have a question for all you married peeps out there. When you go out to dinner, do you sit next to your spouse or do you sit with peeps of your same gender? We always sit girls together and boys together. Just wondered if we were weird.
I loved the flowers on the Sassafrass Paper. I thought they were so mod. I am also loving the little felts from Jillibean soup. Hope you are having as much fun as I am with this months's Scripts Kit!!!

Fun with the March Scripts Kit
I am loving this month's kit!!! So perfect for me right now as I have sooo many pics to scrap from Cam's birthday party. The Bella Blvd cupcake paper is to die for. Not to mention Cosmo Cricket's Girl Friday line and Sassafrass Bungle Jungle (I have to say Cosmo and Sassafrass are bringing it these days). I can't wait to see what everyone does with this fun kit. Did you know it has the new Tag Book Mini Album from AccuCut in it? That alone is worth ordering it : )

Rosettes
Hello All!
Again, thanks to the Snow, I was able to do some fun stuff with my February Scripts kit. Here is a layout I did about Cam wearing my high heels. I really liked the basting tape type stuff that was in the kit. For some reason, I immediately thought of making rosettes with it. They are very easy to make. All you need is a needle and thread.
First, decide if you want to make small or large rosettes. I made smaller ones on my layout by folding the basting tape in half before I started sewing them. Cut a length of tape or ribbon as long as desired.
Thread your needle and run it through the edge of the ribbon or tape. Weave the needle in and out of the edge so its kind of like a ruffle.
Once you've gone all the way through to the end of the ribbon, make a circle with the thread by running your needle through a second time. The ends of the ribbon will meet to make a circle. Secure the thread with a knot or by tying the ends of the thread together.
In the rosette above, I left a long tail at each end of my thread and tied the two ends together in a bow on the finished rosette. I also dipped the edges in some pink paint to give it a little color. You could also use ink, dye or markers to color the edges any color you'd like to match your layout.
Have a wonderful week everyone!

Fun Card with Scraps
You know I'm ALL about using the scraps that come with a kit. I loved all the possibilities of texture with this one. The rough canvas, the satin ribbon, the torn and cut paper. So I wove some of these little scraps together to form a background of a card. A sweet, sweet, SWEET precious friend of mine gave me a Matt Nathanson CD and this card is going to go with a little thank you present I've gotten for her. The butterfly was from my stash (they are Making Memories) and the letters are from a previous Scripts kit.
