I have a little friend that had her 11th birthday yesterday, so I made her a batch of Chex Muddy Buddies and put it in a cleaned out formula canister.
I decorated the can with some of the November kit. I thought the Jenni Bowlin Studios paper was perfect for this!
You could also use an old hot chocolate can- or even a new one and leave the hot chocolate inside!
Chex Muddy Buddies recipe:
| 9 | cups Corn Chex®, Rice Chex®, Wheat Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination) |
| 1 | cup semisweet chocolate chips |
| 1/2 | cup peanut butter |
| 1/4 | cup butter or margarine |
| 1 | teaspoon vanilla |
| 11/2 | cups powdered sugar |
| 1. | Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside. |
| 2. | In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag. |
| 3. | Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator. |

i LOVE it! i'm totally using this idea so perfect for inexpensive teacher/classmate gifts (who doesn't love hot cocoa or muddy buddies!) thanks so much & YUM-O!
GREAT idea! I am re-using some veggie cans for a goodie bag for Wrapper's delight....not covering with paper.....this time! Yours turned out so cute!
