Introducing- Scripts Scraps!
I don't know about you guys, but I cannot get rid of any leftover piece from my Scripts kits. The members of the design team have been chatting about this, and we came up with an idea for us to pull out those extra kits and use up our Scripts Scraps!
I usually keep my leftover kit pieces in the bags that they come in, but the other night I went through them all and combined it all into one big bag. This way, next time I sit down and scrap, I can just grab the whole bag vs. pulling out multiple baggies.
We want to challenge you to use up some of your Scripts Scraps! Pull out those older kits, put them to good work, and make a layout (or two!) using at least 75% product from your Scripts kits. Upload your layout to your place of choice (blog, Scrap Etc. gallery, flickr, etc.) and then come back here and post a direct link to it in the comments. Each layout/project you complete will put your name into a drawing for a fun prize from Lucy!
Enter your layout/project by Monday, July 6, 2009 to be eligible for this prize. :)
Make sure to keep checking back every Monday for fun new challenges and ideas from the design team!

Ladies, Welcome to the Gun Show
My husband is a funny guy. He was voted class wittiest, in fact. So, one of the first phrases he taught J to say was, "Ladies, Welcome to the Gun Show!" and to then flex his "guns". He has been doing that since he was about two. He is still doing it today. It always gets a laugh. I thought the tickets in the kit worked well with this theme (tickets for the gun show anyone?). I added a bit of ephemera (because I am all in the ephemera these days). The Cosmo Cricket paper added the perfect amount of whimsical fun with the bouncing ball background. The Thickers were mine...I am running out and I need more!!!!

A little more paint
I started out with plans to turn this old book into a mini album.
The next thing I know out came the paint!
This painting was inspired by Tricia Robinson
check her out sometime.
For this project, I removed the inside of the book, opened
the cover and painted right on it. I then used papers from this months kit
to make dimensional flowers.
How about I throw a layout in here too? Thanks for looking!

Cards
I love that the papers & colors in this kit can look a little vintagey, if you want them to- and you know how I love the vintage vibe!
I whipped out a couple of cards, just wanting to play- I love that you can make cards when you don't have enough time to devote to a layout, but you still want to get "messy." :)
I cut out some of the flowers from the KI paper, and mounted them on top of punched circles, layered with threaded buttons. The little tag is inked with distress inks to make it more "shabby."I cut apart one of the mini folders for this card (leaving it intact would make it too bulky) and inked it with some more distress ink. All the edges on the hearts and papers have been distressed with the edges of my scissors.
I adhered the tulle down with my ATG gun first, then secured the side with eyelets. This is all from the beautiful June kit!

True Fans RUN Disney!
I love this layout! I love these pictures! I love to work on my Disney layouts............because I have so crazy many pictures from there........and it makes me happy!
And, then I combine Scripts with it, and man, that is a good combination! When I saw that black and white polka dot paper, and the red fabric, I knew something Disney would come from that!
Now, let me apologize for the photos, as I know they are not the best of these layouts, but you get the idea!
So, anyways, I love it! And, I love that when I look at this layout, it makes me happy.......and it makes me want to go run Disney again!
Anyone wanna join me?!?!

Being Mommy & Snuggies
This is a layout that I hadn't gotten around to posting yet from last month's Scripts kit. It's one of those that means a lot to me... I hope my kids can see my heart in it when they are older.
And this one is with the newest Scripts kit- look at all those bright summer colors!
Katie gave me the idea for the title... we were joking about those blanket/Snuggies things and I realized that's what my kids call it when they are snuggling. Hee hee.
It was fun coming up with these different elements in this cluster. I'm so punching more circles out of tickets, I love how it looks!

fun project!
This was lots of fun. You've just got to try it! This little note box is from the Add-on kit, mixed with the regular Scripts kit for this month. The kit comes with a blank pizza box to decorate. I started out by painting the box with acrylic paints and then used the papers and stickers to decorate the top. I sealed the box all over with Mod Podge for extra durability. I even used the gingham fabric to line the inside.
I had such a fun time with the box that I decided to make a matching notebook. I started out with a black and white composition notebook. I painted the cover with Gesso as a primer and then with acrylics. I used the same pattern as I did on the box. I did sew on a bit of the red ball trim from last months kit. It was laying out on my desk and I just couldn't resist. I mean could you have? I sealed this book with Mod Podge too and I added a gingham bookmark with a couple of wooden beads that I painted to match.
For those of you that don't know I have started working as an instructor for Sips N Strokes in Fultondale. I wanted this to be my class workbook so I decided to tear and staple pages together to make pockets that I could keep my weekly class notes and project photos in. Fun stuff indeed! Thanks for looking, Vanessa
Layout with June Kit
Another great kit from Scrap Etc. Scripts this month! I love all the fun summer colors. The kit is just in time for open toed shoe season and we have a girl at our house that loves getting a mani/pedi. The beautiful Bloom Paper from KI Memories was perfectly girlie. I also used the B side of the Hambly for my journaling and title work. I used the gold Glitz rub on to add a little something extra to the edge of the layout. I also gathered the yellow tulle from the kit to make a little ruffle on the left side of the layout under the flower paper. You know how I like dimension.

Just Chillin' Money Holders!
Well, I LOVE these little journal sheets from this month's kit! I wanted to use them in so many different ways, but I really *needed* to make some money cards for a few graduates at our church! So............... I added some patterned paper to the back side, and then decorated the journal sheets......and then for a little 'whimsy' I added ribbon to the money!
They are so cute IRL and hopefully, a welcome surprise! And, not to mention --- EASY! I have about 4 more I need to make! YIKES! I think as Mason gets older, each year we are going to get more and more grad invites!!!
Anyone got any cute graduate gift ideas.........that I can make on the cheap?!?!
More layouts to come soon.......I had so much fun with this kit!!!

Gramma and Papa
I will admit, I struggled with the May Kit just a little bit. I don't feel like this is the best I have, but I was really loving this picture, so a few weeks ago, I had a little free scrappy time, so I worked on this one.
The irony in it all is that the next day, my Gramma fell, and I thought I was losing her, for real. So, on my way to the hospital, I was in tears, just replaying all of the times I have spent with her, and I could not believe how I was just working on this layout, and then here I was driving to see her in the ICU.
How important it IS to preserve those memories!
Thankfully, my Gramma is fine, God is good. And she is back to her usual crazy 84-year-old self!!! When she called the physical therapist a "physical terrorist" I knew she was gonna be just fine!!!

JUNE Scripts peeks
Oh how I love this kit! It came together so easily! I think we have added quite a few pieces of paper, a little cardstock, some embellies that you can't find in any other kit!! Oh and the October Afternoon is to die for. I love this company!! Ki, American Crafts, Jenni Bowlin and have I mentioned we are bringing fabric back? Yeah! So fun to go to different places and add those special touches, like tulle....lots of it and pink carnival tickets!
The add on has more cardstock and a piece of Jenni Bowlin die cut paper. Sassafras felties are one of the must have embellishments! This summer collection will go with everything! The 7 gypsies naked pizza box is a super fun project piece. It can house a little album with all of the summers BEST photos!

We added a little "just paper" add on this month. Since there is no store to shop at anymore. We thought you could just buy directly from us another of each of the adorable papers in this kit!! Most of them have adorable "backsides"! I think I stole that from Cosmo Cricket. They always have the cutest names for things! This kit is $7.99I printed out pictures tonight. I hope to get some scrapping done tomorrow.
If not, there will be plenty of time at the beach next week!

Not your Mama's kit club!
I love Scripts! Have I said that before! Well, now that Scrap ETC is closing the brick and mortar store.....I am loving it even more!
Here's a little something fun I did for the end of the school year! The cute bucket is for Chap's teacher! I filled it with cookies! She has a sweet baby in her belly, so I am sure they both enjoyed them!
The cookie bags are for ALLLLLLLLLLLLL the teachers, janitors, lunchroom ladies.........just whoever the boys wanted to give them too! There are SO many wonderful people that help with my boys from 8am - 3pm, I just wanted to give them a little love for the end of the year! I love how the Scripts kit all looks good together, but not too matchy-matchy!

Wayne's World - Party Time - Excellent!
I love all the bright colors in this month's kit.
This layout is just a fun one. I had this picture of Cam, who makes this funny little smile where she looks like Garth from Wayne's World. So, I just did a little layout about it. I love layering with the Sassafrass Paper Whimsies!
Yes, I'm addicted to using the American Crafts Zing Embossing Powder. It's so wrong. This time, instead of embossing around the edges like I was inking the layout, I used a stamp. I kind of let the stamp run off the side and used different color Zing to emboss.
Trying to get a shot of the boy
This is one of my favorite layouts I've ever done.... it captures Atticus perfectly in the stage he's at, and I love how all the products in the May kit came together with this vintage cool vibe.
